Acessa® Laparoscopic Radiofrequency Ablation (Lap-RFA)

The Acessa procedure is a minimally invasive, outpatient treatment that involves two small abdominal incisions.1 It uses controlled radiofrequency energy, heat, to cause coagulative necrosis of the fibroid tissue. The treated tissue softens and shrinks over time, allowing fibroid symptoms to resolve with no suturing of the uterine tissue.

Aptima Combo 2® assay (for CT/NG)

STIs are on the rise. Chlamydia (CT) and gonorrhea (NG) can have serious long-term consequences including pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), ectopic pregnancy and infertility.1 Accurate testing and treatment are critical to protecting sexual and reproductive health. The Aptima Combo 2® assay delivers reliable results from multiple specimen types, including self and clinician-collected vaginal swabs with the Aptima® Multitest Swab — the preferred specimen type of the CDC for CT and NG testing.

Aptima® Herpes Simplex 1 & 2 assay

NAATs, such as the Aptima® HSV 1 & 2 assay, are recommended by the CDC and WHO for HSV diagnosis. They are increasingly preferred over viral culture to diagnose genital herpes due to higher sensitivity, ease of specimen collection and transportation and faster results.2,3 The Aptima HSV 1 & 2 assay distinguishes between HSV-1 and HSV-2 with significant reduction in hands-on time for laboratory professionals when compared to culture and other instrument platforms.

Aptima® Multitest Swab Specimen Collection Kit

With just one sample, the Aptima Multitest Swab simplifies testing and provides more answers for sexual and vaginal health.

Aptima® Mycoplasma genitalium Assay

Mycoplasma genitalium (M. gen) is an emerging health concern.
Testing for M. gen is recommended for all patients with recurrent urethritis, cervicitis and PID.1 Both women and men with M. gen infections are often asymptomatic and when left untreated, this infection can result in serious health consequences.

Aptima® STIs

STI testing for improved sexual health. The Aptima STI portfolio supports sexual health testing with a comprehensive, flexible menu of sexually transmitted infection (STI) assays.

Aptima® Trichomonas vaginalis assay

Trichomonas vaginalis (TV) is the most common curable STI in the United states.1 Over 3.7 million people in the United States have TV, which is a higher prevalence than chlamydia and gonorrhea infections combined.1 The CDC recommends testing women for TV infection if they are symptomatic or at increased risk of infection.2 The CDC and ACOG also recommend the use of a highly sensitive and specific test, such as the Aptima® Trichomonas vaginalis assay.2,3

Aptima® Vaginal Health

The Aptima vaginitis panel from Hologic consists of molecular nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT) to aid in the detection of vaginosis and vaginitis. Our assays detect the three most common causes of infectious vaginitis: bacterial vaginosis, candida vaginitis and trichomoniasis.
